We record limited first-party product events such as screens viewed, session duration, authentication method outcomes, game mode, attempt count, and whether a puzzle was completed. We use these events to understand where players encounter friction and to improve AlfaZulu.
Analytics events do not include passwords, typed airport searches, individual guesses, or a raw device identifier. Before storage, the app installation identifier is converted to a one-way hash. When you are signed in, events may also be associated with your AlfaZulu account so progress and product behavior can be understood across sessions.
Our iOS and Android apps use Google AdMob to display advertising at limited, non-gameplay moments. Depending on your location and choices, Google and its partners may process device identifiers, approximate location, app activity, and ad interactions to select, deliver, measure, and prevent fraud in ads.
Where required, AlfaZulu presents Google's consent form before requesting ads. You can revisit available advertising privacy choices from the Pilot screen. Learn more in Google's Advertising Policies.
The website uses your analytics cookie choice. Mobile releases with the Usage analytics control ask before enabling optional analytics; you can change that choice in Settings & privacy. Older mobile versions may not have this control. Optional analytics can include a random installation identifier, installation time, game activity, and campaign tags supplied by Google Play. We use Google Firebase Analytics and our own event records to understand discovery and gameplay. Signed-in activity may be associated with your account. Acquisition measurement does not read advertising IDs, contacts, or your precise device location. Advertising consent is managed separately. Turning off usage analytics stops future optional collection and clears unsent acquisition events; it does not delete previously received records or the game/account data needed to provide the service. If you volunteer for an Android closed test, we use the Google account email you provide only to grant Google Play test access, send essential testing instructions, and record your self-reported installation status. Optional device details help us understand device coverage. We do not add beta applicants to a general marketing list. We mark this intake data for removal after the launch testing window and retain it for no longer than 90 days unless it is needed to resolve a testing or security issue.
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage, provide personalized content or advertising where permitted. You can control web cookie preferences through your browser settings and available mobile advertising choices from the Pilot screen.
Necessary browser storage records the current Daily puzzle identifier, attempted airport codes, hint state, and completion outcome so anonymous players cannot accidentally restart the same Daily on that browser. It expires automatically and does not contain an email address, account identifier, or advertising profile.
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
